This practice seeks to provide your patients with the best possible weight loss surgery program.
Several mechanisms have been put into place to ensure excellent results and positive feedback has been received from previous clients.

Consultations are conducted by myself free of charge, to provide information on the types of surgery available and the program appointments. This appointment is not in place of a clinical appointment performed by Dr Phil Lockie. Even if a client does not proceed with surgery, this practice has an open door policy. This enables the client to have contact with specialists and the facility of the support group.
The practice has streamlined the program to provide flexible same day appointments. Auditing and monitoring of appointment schedules are ongoing. Our support staff are available on email and mobile contact from the first day your patient consults with us.
Our support group is based at Brisbane Private Hospital, 259 Wickham Terrace. Brisbane Private Hospital kindly offers free car parking for this meeting and refreshments are also served courtesy of the hospital.
The group meetings are managed by our psychologist and have proven to be an invaluable asset once the initial postoperative recovery is over.
We have guest speakers each month and any issues are referred on to the appropriate specialist.
The GP relationship is very important to this practice. The client requiring weight loss support needs to be able to access their GP support and clinical expertise after weight loss surgery.
We have a system in place if this is felt necessary to request an enhanced primary care program for our clients. Ultimately the decision is yours.
As you may know the Medicare rebate assists with $46 per Allied Health appointment up to 5 appointments in one year. This has been extremely beneficial to our patients.
Our client also is provided with continuity of care with one person as first point of contact This out of hours service and has worked extremely well and is written on the post operative information leaflet.
Discharge planning is fully programmed with scheduled follow up appointments before the patient leaves hospital. This has proven to add compliance to the program. Support throughout is critical for enhanced recovery and optimum outcome.
All communications are reported to Dr Phil Lockie and patient progress is monitored. It is this contact-appointment-support, which is the key to our success.

In 2007 I became one of the first Exercise Physiologists in Australia to work with a weight loss surgeon to develop exercise programs to enhance the overall procedure.
My approach to exercise prescription and programming is progressive and lifestyle orientated. By using rehabilitative exercise prescription techniques during the initial stages of all my programs I ensure individuals progress safely.
By setting realistic exercise targets and using self empowering adherence strategies my goal is to help each individual develop a sustainable exercise routine.
I have a passion for health and fitness and believe the key to success lies within thoroughly understanding your own body.
