What is SurgicalPerformance?

SurgicalPerformance is a confidential tool built by surgeons, for surgeons. It allows us to:

• Track surgical results and recovery over time, enabling ongoing reflection and improvements in care.
• Learn directly from our patients’ feedback and identify areas to improve patient service and care.
• Compare outcomes anonymously, ensuring our practice remains at the forefront of safe, effective care.

Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS)

Before and after your surgery, you may be invited to complete a short survey at set times. These are called Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS).

The surveys are quick to complete via your mobile phone and cover important aspects of your recovery, such as:

• Pain and comfort levels
• Mobility and daily activity
• Overall wellbeing and quality of life

Your confidential responses go directly to our team. They help us understand your recovery in real time so we can offer more tailored care and support.

These surveys do not diagnose or recommend treatment, nor do they replace our high quality of care and post-operative appointments. But they do allow us to enhance our quality of care and understand your experience in greater depth.

Leading Innovation in Hernia Care

Our practice is proud to contribute to the improvement of hernia surgery. Together with SurgicalPerformance, we recently helped integrate the Abdominal Hernia-Q, a new survey within their PROMS system designed specifically for hernia patients.

This validated survey captures the unique aspects of recovery after hernia surgery and helps us provide more personalised, evidence-based care.
