Users Hospitalised With Liver Failure and Severe Dehydration

An unapproved weight loss peptide available on the internet, is causing sever harm to a substantial number of users according to multiple recent reports.

The peptide labelled "Retatrutide", had medical authorities worried because of the number of hospitalisations it has caused.

The ABC (AU) has reported that a Victorian woman was hospitalised with acute liver failure after only two doses of the counterfeit drug.

The Chief Health Officer for Victoria issued a health alert because of the case and others like it.

Subsequent testing has found that the sample tested contained twice the level of drug that was indicated on the label. Testing is ongoing.

Whilst a drug of the same name is currently the subject of clinical trials, no health authority worldwide has approved of its use.
